By transforming each letter of the English alphabet to color, Michelle Bowen’s Huelitic Code shatters the common notion that language is fundamental and fixed. In this exhibition, Bowen challenges deeply rooted social constructs and doctrines to explore the kind of world we have created through language – and shows where humanity can go when taken beyond its four walls.

Since 2007 The Center for Disability Services has sponsored a Center wide art exhibit highlighting the creativity and talents of the people they serve alongside the staff providing services. The artworks included in this exhibit were chosen from the Center for Disability Services May 2019 art exhibit.
CALLING ALL ARTISTS
The Arts Center of the Capital Region is pleased to announce a Call for Artists for 2020-21.
Submissions will be considered for opportunities including solo exhibitions, small and large group exhibitions, installation possibilities, and more. Visual artists in all media – clay arts, painting, printmaking, sculpture, installation, video, photography, performance, and mixed media presentations – are invited to submit proposals for consideration. Artists must live within a 100 mile radius of Troy, NY to be considered. Proof of residency may be required if selected.
All exhibitions are free and open to the public.
