Wikipedia Edit-a-thon at University Art Museum Thursday 3/5

Did you know that Wikipedia content is skewed by lack of female participation?
You can help change that by joining the University at Albany Art Museum Edit-a-thon, a community organized event that teaches how to edit, update, and add articles on Wikipedia.

Wikipedia Edit-a-thon—Art + Feminism 2020
University Art Museum
Thursday, March 5, 2020, 12 – 3 p.m.
Free and open to the public.

Join them to make contributions to Wikipedia that directly relate to the exhibition on view Affinities and Outliers: Highlights from the University at Albany Fine Art Collections (through April 4, 2020). The women artists in the exhibition will be the focus of the Wikipedia entries.

Bring your laptop and power cord. They will provide tutorials for the beginner Wikipedian and reference materials about the women who are the readers in the exhibition. Students, faculty, staff, and community members of all gender identities and expressions are invited to participate. Guests can stay for under an hour or for the entire day.

It’s a good idea to create a Wikipedia account in advance. For additional information, and to RSVP visit:
