GORDON PARKS: I, TOO, AM AMERICA
NOVEMBER 12, 2022 – FEBRUARY 4, 2023

Copyright and courtesy of The Gordon Parks Foundation. (2008.14)
This exhibition of forty photographs is drawn from the exceptionally strong holdings of photographs by Gordon Parks (1912-2006) at the Ulrich Museum of Art at Wichita State University. The Kansas native is a twentieth century icon whose images became a potent tool in supporting the post-war struggle for Civil Rights for African Americans.
ARTIST TALK
Sunday, November 6
2:00 – 3:00 PM, Key Cultural Center
In this lecture, exhibiting artist Paul Scott will discuss his artistic process and provide exclusive insights into the “Paul Scott, New American Scenery” exhibit, on display through December 31, 2022.
The images that Scott creates for his ceramic ware depict unsettling views of human impact on the American landscape, subverting the picturesque aesthetic of the Staffordshire ware that inspires his work. Join us to learn more!
Included with admission!
